Film South Florida.com: What was the film's source of inspiration?

Routt: We wanted to make a short to show our filmmaking abilities, for the public, as well as investors, to raise money to make a full-length feature.

Film South Florida.com: What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome while making Alternate Paths ?
Ê
Routt: Time constraints and finding a location that was seedy, but not too dangerous.

Film South Florida.com: What was the most memorable moment of making Alternate Paths ?

Routt: When the woman is confronted by the psycho after she believes she escaped.

Film South Florida.com: How important is it to you and your film that it is screening during the PBIFF?
Ê
Routt: The Palm Beach Film Festival is a well-recognized film festival with a sophisticated audience that expects quality. The audience will be greatful to the festival for choosing us, because they will see an entertaining film, which may cause them to come back.ÊWe won last year in the Voices of Local Talent, and were sold out to a crowd of 200 with a different short film. We hope the same this year.

Film South Florida.com: How has living in Florida shaped your vision as a filmmaker?

Routt: I see a large group of people who seem determined to be successful filmmakers. I watch the film community grow here, along withÊthe supportÊof independent films, not only by audiences, but film commissions, as well as private sources, and I see a great opportunity to prosper, if the right dedication is put into filmmaking.
